Founded in April 2002 by the leaders of the American College
of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), the OEHF
is an independent entity organized exclusively for charitable,
educational, and scientific purposes. Its mission is to advance
the knowledge of occupational and environmental health and
medicine and to promote and protect the health of workers
through preventive services, clinical care, research and educational
programs.
Among the early initiative of the OEHF is
sponsorship, under a grant from Pfizer Inc, of programs/research
in health, wellness and safety in the workplace. In addition
to this grant program, the OEHF has developed
an agenda for research (Establishing
a Research Agenda in Health and Productivity – JOEM,
Vol. 46, No. 6, June 2004) that identifies topics the
Foundation will consider funding over the next several years.
Information on the RFP process will be promulgated via this
website beginning in mid 2006.
Your donation to the OEHF is vital in our
efforts to develop programs and conduct innovative research
in occupational and environmental health. It is through your
generosity and support that we will be able to meet our goals
and offer meaningful improvements in this field of health.
